Project Overview

Europe is in the midst of crisis, experiencing a large-scale flow of refugees from currently or in
the recent past war-torn countries, which as a result has created new challenges for European
societies in terms of not only providing a helping hand to those in need of protection and shelter but also the need for developing a larger scale and sustainable strategies in terms of integrating migrants in their new host communities and preparing host communities for these changes.
The aim of the project, strongly influenced by the migration challenges, is to contribute to the
joint European efforts in developing viable solutions to the on-going migration crisis and as well
to raise awareness and encourage greater and more active participation of civil society actors in
creating a more inclusive European society.

The objectives of the project are:

– to discuss different ways of integrating migrants in different countries, review and evaluate
different perspectives in terms of different strategies countries apply (or not) for the integration of
migrants throughout Europe
– identify the main issues at the moment and work on possible solutions and
activities for implementing these solutions
– to identify fields where youth can provide the necessary improvements and contribute to the
the current migrant crisis in Europe
– to improve the social skills of young people with a migration background
– discuss specific issues that refugees might face and develop solutions accordingly, including
the development of new strategies on how to deal with refugee issues on different stages of
their integration into host society;
– to stimulate youth to take an initiative and create differences in their communities
